Geelong Bypass
Section one of the Geelong Bypass project involved a new bypass from Corio to the Midland Highway. The rail overpass consisted of two abutments each measuring 36 metres long by 9.8 metres high.
The TRIO wall formwork system was used for the bridge abutment. Sufficent equipment was needed to form up one complete abutment and one face of the other abutment.
The client required that the abutment was to be done in one pour full height and this was achieved using the TRIO wall formwork system and the DW20 tie rods.
The TRIO wall formwork system enabled the client to erect the system in a short amount of time. Once the first abutment was poured, the assembled shutters from this abutment were craned straight into position on the second abutment. This resulted in a huge time saving for the client.
