Location: Sydney, Australia

  • The new Sydney Metro Station Structure is part of the Northwest Rail Link (NRT)
  • The entire station box is approx. 22m underground and 192m Long

Requirements

  • Provide single and double sided formwork solution for headwall
  • Provide falsework support and scaffold access for headwall
  • All formwork and scaffolding was to be pre-assemble for the country end into crane lifted units for easy set up, stripping and reused by the client at the city end.
  • Provide double sided formwork for lift core and platform walls

Benefit to customer

  • CIVMEC was able to reuse material from the country end and set up again at the city end, with minimal disassembly.

PERI solution

  • Due to the limited base slab capacity within the structure, PERI had to split the10m high pour into 3 separate pours
  • After each pour, the formwork was stripped and a section of SB frame and additional shutters were added
