Jindabyne Dam

Project data

Location: Jindabyne, Australia

One of a series of dams that forms part of Australia's famous Snowy Mountains Hydro Electric Scheme.

  • 3.6 metre diameter tunnel, training walls, spillway walls and new intake tower added in 2005
  • Part of a Commonwealth and State initiative to increase the water flow in the Snowy river

Requirements

  • Supply formwork for the new training and spillway walls
  • Large single faced forms and single faced climbing systems
  • Short construction program.

Customer

  • Bettaform P/L
  • Kenpass P/L

Benefit to customer

  • Fast efficient with high productivity

PERI solution

  • TRIO was the obvious choice for the formwork system.
  • For the training wall, TRIO was combined with SB to do the first 7.2m pour, subsequent smaller pours were tied back to the rock or were single sided for the spillway walls.
  • TRIO was combined with SKSF240, this meant no ties through the face and was a faster and more efficient way of constructing the spillway walls.
